Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson talked with ESPN's Sal Paolantonio about his new home in NY and revealed his new tattoo: A Jets logo with "2010-" below it, on his leg. Tomlinson also has a Chargers tattoo with the years 2001-2010 below, marking the duration of his career in San Diego, on his other leg. Tomlinson says the Chargers tattoo are marking the end of his SD career. The Jets tattoo is marking, "a new birth being born"in his career in NY.

Also during the interview, Tomlinson was asked that, if he wins a Super Bowl with the Jets and makes it to the NFL Hall Of Fame, does he go in as a Jet, or as a Charger? LT's response:

"Interesting"

LOL that was so cute... NOT!

I've always been a fan of LT. I think he's one of the greater RBs of our modern NFL times. But he's thrown me for a loop with this one. Getting a tattoo of your new squad is a bit extra, and Sal Paolantonio even notices it by saying he's never seen a person get a tattoo so quickly after signing to a new squad. We get it... you want to move on from San Diego. But tatting yourself up before training camp seems to be kind of...well...pressed, actually.

What got me the most is the answer in which he gave Sal after the HOF question. I don't care if he wins 3 Super Bowls with the Jets, he will always be remembered as a Charger first. His 2006 season (one of the best single seasons for a RB) was done as a Charger. A Super Bowl doesn't change any of that. There's nothing interesting about it, Tomlinson will go to Canton in powder blue- not gang green- and to not even acknowledge that is foolish at best.

LT go sitcho simple azz down!

What About Troy Smith????

This is a question the Ravens front office and fans alike would like to know right now. The Ravens signed free agent QB Marc Bulger to a one-year deal yesterday, and have already claimed that Bulger- not Smith- will be the backup for Joe Flacco.

Prior to the Bulger signing, Smith has said that he believes he is a starter in the NFL, not a backup. We even heard from his former agent, making such comments in an attempt to have Smith traded to the Cleveland Browns, his hometown team. The Ravens put a 5th round tender on Smith (he is a restricted free agent), but no other teams bit. Smith has since fired his agent and kept quiet while signing his tender. But all the while, believing he should be a starter for another team.

With the signing of Bulger, it seems as there is almost certainty that Smith will be moved. He's a competitor that never was comfortable being in a backup role. And with the notion that Bulger will be the #2 QB on the roster, I'm sure that being a #3 QB isn't something Smith would be too thrilled about.

So what happens to Troy Smith now? For now, that remained to be unseen. The Baltimore Sun is speculating that Smith could be traded for a 6th round pick. So basically the former Heisman Trophy winner could go for a pick that may not even make the team. Another scenario is, Smith could be traded. Buffalo, Jacksonville, Arizona and Tennessee are a couple of teams that come to mind when thinking of a new home for Smith (I did say Tennessee, only because of Young's recent troubles and they have similar QB traits that the Titans may want to look into).

It will be interesting to see what happens between now and training camp. Hopefully Troy Smith can go to a team and compete for the job he feels he deserves: A starter in the NFL

Fights, Holdouts and Violations... oh my! The NFL has been full of stories, whether they are on or off-the-field. If you've missed some of the stories this week, here's a recap:

Albert Haynesworth sat out the Redskins' mandatory camp this week, to force a trade. Haynesworth is not happy that Washington is changing their defense from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 defense. This after he received a $21 million dollar bonus on April 1st. Haynesworth has been called out by his teammates and former Redskins players, saying he's turned his back on the team and not reliable

My thoughts: Fat Albert needs to sit his azz down. While I can understand his issue with the the change of the defense, it's not enough to be traded. And if you're bound to make $100 million dollars, why are you complaining about ANYTHING??? On the flip side, I don't feel bad for Washington either..... stop overpaying these guys and it would make it easier to let them go.

Former Colts WR Marvin Harrison had a 9mm handgun seized from his vehicle for ballistic tests. The police planned to determine whether the gun matched the 9mm shell casings found at the scene of an April 2008 shooting.

My thoughts: Okay, Harrison has been doing hoodrat stuff for some time now. I'm convinced that he is trying to go to jail. Maybe it's because no one has asked him to join their NFL team and he's bored. Whatever the case, this is ungood for Harrison. It's always the quiet ones..............

Chargers restricted free agents Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeill didn't sign their tenders by the June 15 deadline. Now, Chargers general manager A.J. Smith says the team is preparing for the 2010 season without them.

My Thoughts: Ummmm...... What the hell is AJ Smith doing???? The Chargers NEED McNeill, for an already sucky offensive line.. and Vincent Jackson is a big part of the San Diego offense. AJ doesn't want my boo Philip Rivers to be great. If I see a lot of these faces this season,
Philip Rivers Gas Face
I'm on the first red eye to San Diego!

Brett Favre's doctor said Wednesday that the quarterback's recent ankle surgery went well and Favre has a few more weeks of rehabilitation before he will decide if he will return for a 20th NFL season.

My thoughts: So! Same story, different year. On to the next................

The NFL made a presentation to the NFL Players Association during a collective bargaining session in New York on Wednesday espousing the merits of moving to an 18-game season.

My thoughts: I'm totally against this. Football is a very physical sport. Having 18 games plus playoffs can be crucial to one's body. Ray Lewis and Tom Brady have already spoken out being against this possibility and so am I. I love football as much as the next, but I'd much rather see a healthy Ravens team in 16 weeks than a physically struggling team in 18. The NFL would almost have to add more players on the roster to let this fly, but I think it's a bad idea overall.

A source with knowledge of the situation reports that the expansion Omaha Nighthawks could be signing JaMarcus Russell, who would team up with running back Ahman Green in the team's backfield.

My Thoughts:

Sorry........ I know that was mean, but hey... such as life!

Really Vince Young??? REALLY?!

By now I'm sure you've heard the news about Titans QB Vince Young's brush with the law. On Saturday night, Young got into a fight at the Onyx Club in Dallas. Young was since given a citation for the incident.

Apparently the story goes like this , according to Dallas News:

"There was a conversation going on between Mr. Young and several people inside the office," said Dallas police Lt. Craig Miller, acting commander of the Crimes Against Persons Division. "One of the [club employees] makes a gesture contradictory to the University of Texas, the 'Hook 'em' sign upside down. This obviously made Mr. Young upset."

If you've missed the recorded fight, here's a look:

When will these athletes learn???

I have a colleague who is a UT alum, and I talked to him briefly about this. He says that anyone that's an Aggies or Sooner fan can do that, and it will REALLY ruffle a Texas alum's feathers. Could get down right violent, even. Being that the person attacked was allegedly from Oklahoma, let's assume he was a Sooner fan/alum. My colleague says that's grounds for an ass whupping.... (Thanks Bill!)

BUT!

My colleague also says the following, "When you're a guy like me.. you'd probably get into a fight. When you're a guy like Vince Young... you have to learn how to let it go."

Couldn't have said it any better.

Vince Young is an idiot. Maybe he should find a hobby to get into... and I don't mean "making it rain" in strip clubs (which Onyx is). Players are constantly targeted by Joe Schmos, for whatever reason. To see if they can beat you physically, to get some money from you, or simply to brag amongst friends. But whatever the reason, players have bulls eyes on their back wherever they go. Does that mean that players shouldn't be able to live their life and do the things they enjoy? Of course not. But it also means that you have to think about everything you SAY and DO. Someone is always listening and watching your every move. And when you slip up, it becomes news. If Vince Young the barber gets into a fight. It's not newsworthy. If Vince Young the player does it, he's facing a possible suspension from commissioner Goodell. Get it?? Got it?? GOOD!

Due to the incident, Young faces a $500 fine on a Class C misdemeanor charge. So you mean to tell me, you are about to get in trouble from your employer... and all you did was give someone a cut lip????

Photobucket

I'm sorry for laughing... Look, I'm glad that no one was seriously injured and walked away from this. But this just tells me someone hasn't been hitting the weight room like they should. Vince Young needs to worry about being an NFL QB instead of worrying about defending an upside down hook-em sign. And from the looks of it, he's having a time with both duties at hand.

Memo to Young: Remember who you are..... the QB for the Tennessee Titans. Any and everything you do will be reported as news. Learn to fight your battles..... Don't throw your career away with a simple hand gesture.
