I had the opportunity to interview Adrian Coxson, City College (Balto, MD) standout WR who currently committed to the University of Florida (Go Gators!).

The Baltimore Sun's All-Metro 1st Team player had previously committed to Penn State before UF, while also getting scholarship offers from the likes of Notre Dame as well as Florida's rival, University of Georgia. In this interview, Coxson talks about his mentor, surprising his mother during Signing Day and how he thinks he will play in the ultra competitive South Eastern Conference.

While Coxson isn't a man of many words as you'll see in this interview, he gets straight to the point- something I admire. Hope you enjoy!

Growing up, did you participate in any youth organizations in Baltimore City? If so, what programs did you come from?
I played pop warner football and baseball.

Has any City alumni that made it to the college or pro, ranks, extended an olive branch to you? If so, what advice did they give?
Yes Brian Johnson.. He told me to stay focus ,be humbled , and work hard because nothing is given to you.

At one point, you committed to Penn State. How was it to meet and talk to a legendary coach like Joe Paterno???
It was great to meet a legend but hopefully one day I will be a legend.

You’re going to be a Gator this season, as you have committed to Florida. How hard was it to pick Florida over Notre Dame and Georgia, two other schools who showed interst in you?
It was hard because I was trying to find the right school for me and my family. Also the place that will benefit me in my future.

According to Baltimore Sun.com, you wanted to surprise your mom in choosing the school you wanted to attend. How surprised was your mom and was she happy with your final decision??
My mom was very surprised when I told her. She was happy that I get to play the game I love at the next level.

You’re headed to one of the most respected programs, which just so happens to be in one of the most exciting conferences in the SEC. Does that make you nervous, just a little bit, in terms of performance on-the-field?
No it doesn't make me nervous really because I like to compete and the SEC is very tough . I'll probably just have a little bit of butterflies the first practice but they will go away.

As a Gator football fan and, individually an Urban Meyer fan, give us something about your head coach that you’ve learned, that folks may not really know about him?
I've learned that a man that makes the right decisions make it far in life.

Being a student of City College, going to UF, who do you think you’ll end up hating more, Poly, or Georgia (your school rivals)?
lol I can't really say because I haven't experienced the Georgia-Florida rival [yet].

Give me three songs in your iPod that you use for motivation during game day.
I don't really listen to a certain 3 I listen to Gucci Mane to motivate me.. Any of his songs.

Five years from now, where do you see yourself? It can be personal, professional, how ever you see yourself.
I can see my self with my degree which is the most important thing and in the NFL
