The NFL Chick's Fave Five Football Player To Watch- #3

Category: , ,

Hope you guys have enjoyed my list so far. Polamalu didn't make my fellow Ravens fans happy. but I give props to where it's due. A few people expressed that they were kind of shocked that Rivers was on the list, but what can I say... I'm a sucka for cocky men... I mean, men with swag.

Well, we're at the middle of the list and #3 is a good one. One of the most exciting RBs in the game right now and hopefully for years to come.

#3 Adrian Peterson- RB, Minnesota Vikings

This guy was hyped up coming out of Oklahoma, and since he's been in the league, he has not disappointed anyone with the way he plays. This upcoming season is his 3rd in the league, yet he already has his name in the history books.

In case you aren't too familiar with his short resume, lemme give you a recap: It took him 8 games into his rookie season to put him on the map. Peterson rushed for 296 yards against the San Diego Chargers in 2007, breaking the single game rushing record (Petty plug: The previous champ??? You guessed it.. Jamal Lewis, baby!). The Chargers, at the time, were known as a pretty good defense by-the-way. In 2008, Peterson lead the entire league in rushing, with 1760 yards. His avg per game? 110 yards. The best in the league.

Every time he gets the ball, it's exciting to to see how he dodges defenders. He's elusive and quick, not to mention pretty powerful for a RB his size. He's a breath of fresh air in a Vikings offense that is anemic and inconsistent, especially in the passing game. Peterson basically carries the weight for his offense. Let's face it... without him, this is a bad offense, and potentially a bad team overall. Peterson needs an "S" on his chest, he's definitely Superman/Savior for that squad.

If I'm the Adrian Peterson from the Chicago Bears, then life really sucks. Imagine telling people you're a RB in the league and your name is Adrian Peterson, only to tell folks you're not the one that plays on the Vikings, but on the Bears.

People would probably laugh at him because they'd think he was a liar. What are the chances of 2 players in the league with same name, playing the same position and in the same division? Only, one is really great.. the other is just roster space. Life must suck for him.

My #3 is to a great player who, in just a short period of time, has only scratched the surface on what he can do in the league. I expect nothing but great things from Peterson in the years to come.

Making the NFL league minimum salary does not suck, I assure you. Plus I play for the greatest team in the known Universe: The Chicago Bears! Love, AP

I like the choice. You just never know what might happen when he touches the ball. That's what makes watching him exciting.

He is great and exciting player to watch. Had it not be for him, the 2007 Pro Bowl would have been boring. He threw the rules out window...

LMAO Rob. I'm sorry but that AP must feel like a loser.
pigskin loving lady, Man I totally forgot he did make it exciting!!
tws392000, I love watching him and I do not look forward to seeing him this season LOL

No you're talkin' AP is the best back in the league, he just runs a little too high for me, otherwise he's great.

You don't think the vaunted Ravens D couldn't hold him under 100 yards? Granted, I wouldn't want to see him do it against them.

I was at the game, season before last, where the Cowboys whipped the dog poop out of the Vikings. We shut Peterson down!!!!!!!!!!!
