If the Ravens ever needed good news, they have some today.
ESPN's John Clayton is reporting that Suggs and the Ravens have agreed to a contract extension, worth $63 million over six years. According to the site, Suggs' signing bonus and option bonus will total $33.1 million in 2009 and 2010. The contract makes Suggs one the highest paid LB in the NFL
This is the silver lining in a dark cloud that has been over the Ravens the past couple of weeks. With the sudden loss of Steve McNair and the abrupt retirement of Derrick Mason, the Ravens finally got some good news in signing Suggs long term. He was franchised for a second consecutive year and had until 4pm today to sign a long term deal.
This deal now frees up some cap space much needed to sign a WR, either through free agency or via trade.
Thank you for staying Suggs. The Ravens defense wouldn't have been the same without you!

You know we wouldn't have paid him though. He'd woulda had to walk if he was in Pitt.
Yeah, good news for Baltimore. T-Sizzle is a happy man and I'm hoping he takes it up a notch on the field and demonstrates his happiness.
