The NFL Helps Haiti With Record Breaking Weekend

Category: , , , , ,

The NFL and it's players have taken the initiative to helping the country of Haiti after it's massive earthquake, last Tuesday.

Commissioner Roger Goodell has reported that the NFL's promotion of the Red Cross text donations during last weekend's divisional playoffs accumulated over $500K per hour, and they estimated over $6 million dollars was raised as a result.

In addition to the league's promotions and previous donations, players have also decided to take matters into their own hands. WR Donte Stallworth tweeted that he would donate $1 for every new follower he gained, and Browns star Josh Cribbs also decided to follow Stallworth's footsteps and donate to PROJECT MEDISHARE using the same method.

Bengals wideout Chad Ocho Cinco has challenged 2009 Offensive Player of the Year Chris Johnson to a race, and the loser will donate his entire paycheck to Haiti.

Remember, if you would still like to donate, text HAITI to 90999 or go to www.redcross.org for help
