NFL Week 10 Recap and Thoughts

Category: , ,

-I would first like to apologize for those of you who watched the Monday Night game against the Ravens/Browns. It was boring, lackluster, awful, all of the above. Whoever thought this should be a good Monday Night game should be ashamed of themselves. Even if the Browns still had Winslow and Edwards, I still didn't understand the reasoning behind it. I wish I could give you your 3 hours back that you lost from watching such bad football.

*extra point* If the Ravens offense isn't going to find a rhythm and make some plays, then I may be on a 2-3 week hiatus. We have the Colts, Steelers and Packers coming up. Prayers are needed, please and thanks

*2-point conversion* If I ever see Steve Hauschka out and about, I'm going to windmill him like a mad woman! Dude is garbage

-I don't like the Colts or the Patriots, but I love to see these two teams play each other. This has always been a great game and, in my opinion, will one day become one of the great rivalries, if it hasn't already. It has all the implications to become one.

One future Hall Of Fame QB against another, one Hall Of Fame head coach against another (circa: Dungy, not Caldwell), two high powered offenses going against each other..... everything says this will one day be considered one of the great matchups of the 2000's, or maybe ever. For the Colts to be down 21 points in the 4th quarter to win it by 1 in the final seconds was nothing short of, one of the best games I've seen all year.

*extra point* Very rarely do I have an issue with Bill Belicheck and his football decisions, but I felt that was an awful call. On 4th and 2 on the Pats 28, he asked his offense to convert a 1st down to keep the ball and ultimately win the game. They didn't convert and the Colts now have a chance to win it. Here's the thing; there was no backup plan had they failed, which they did. My suggestion: Belicheck should have told his defense that if Addai gets past the LBs and into the secondary, let him score. If the Colts score, it was still over 1 minute left to play, allowing the Pats to get the ball back and trying to win it with just a field goal. Belicheck had no backup plan. And it showed.

*2-point conversion* What in the world............

-As bad as the Rams are, they've actually improved, week to week. They played New Orleans close for most of the game and ultimately lost by 5. Some people had the Rams as one of the NFL's worst teams. I'm not a fan of moral victories. If you don't win, you lose. But hopefully they can build on that momentum.

-The 2nd best game, hands down, were the Bengals-Steelers game. If you didn't believe it before, believe it now. The Bengals are for real. They are playing like they are on a mission and they are taking no prisoners. It's time to start giving this team props. They went to Pittsburgh and beat them at their own game, playing smashmouth football with a good running game and strong defense

Kudos to defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer for having a defense that's playing like they demand respect. The AFC North is definitely one of the best divisions in football, right now.

-If you are fan of the Cowboys, Eagles, Jets and Falcons... then it sucks to be you right now.

-I don't know too many people that thought the Broncos were that great, even when they were 6-0. Now they are 6-3 and have lost to the Ravens, Steelers and Redskins. While Orton left Sunday's game with an injury, he wasn't exactly lighting it up when he was in the game, either. I just said last week that this is the time San Diego starts to roll, and I need to slap myself for being so damn awesome and dead on. Both teams are 6-3. And while the Broncos are still in 1st place because they beat the Chargers in their first contest, they play the powder blues this Sunday in an AFC West showdown. With Orton's status uncertain, San Diego smells blood right now.

-There was a T.O. Blow Up sighting in Buffalo yesterday. Not that I blame him- the Bills can't finish games or get him the ball. But, is anyone surprised???? In fact, I thought this would happen sooner

-Gus Johnson can make watching paint dry sound exciting. The Raiders and Chiefs were 3-31 combined in 3rd down conversions. Yet, Gus still finds a way to make punts sound like touchdowns. You gotta love a guy like that, he loves his job!

-Dear Bears fans,

Have you ever heard the term, "Be careful what you wish for, or you just might get it"? Well, after years of wishing for a QB, you finally have one. The problem is, he's no better right now than the other ones you complained about.

P.S.- Sucks to be you, too.

I think Gus Johnson should've been calling the MNF game.
Please film your Hauschka encounter and post it on youtube. :)

1) Shirley is wrong... I would never wish Gus Johnson to call such a horrible game that was just aired on MNF. They shoulda had Emmitt Smith and Tim Hardaway call that game. 2) You killed it Ree Ree!! Great summary..I feel bad for the Ravens...bcuz 1-2 in their next 3 games is highly possible. Well better luck next year :-)

MNF was background noise. It was on because you never know.. but the only thing that made it worth keeping the tv on was Jon Gruden. I'm definately a fan of his.
And yes.. it sucks to be an Eagles fan right now. Boourns.
