Week 1 Recap.... In A Nutshell

1

Category: , ,

I know... It's Wednesday and I am JUST getting to what happened 3 days ago. My deepest apologies. I was on the new chapter of the Gridiron Gals Tour this past weekend. On Sunday night, Pigskin Loving Lady and I went to DC to see the Redskins beat the Cowboys in the last minute thriller. Then we headed up 95 North to see my Ravens get a win over the NY Jets. If you were me, you'd be updating your blog 3 days late, too.

So much has happened in just the first week in football. But because I'm so late, by now you've read every breakdown and thought from other writers and bloggers. So let me tell you how Week 1 went, only I'll do it via ESPN's 3 Fastest Minutes style:

Does anyone outside Miami or Buffalo, know or even CARE about their game on Sunday? You neither?? Okay.. NEXT!

Calvin Johnson was ROBBED!
Calvin Johnson Lions

Jay Cutler's arm is kryptonite to his own body

Sucks to be Matt Stafford, Ryan Grant, Kris Jenkins and Bob Sanders right now. Get well soon guys.

Dear Colts. The Texans are for real. Hell, maybe even the Titans. Beware. Signed, the punk that wishes she picked Houston and Tennessee in her picks last week.

Raiders, Bengals, 49ers and Chargers.... SMH at you!

BREAKING NEWS!!! Brett Favre is old!

There is nothing wrong with being confident about your team. But having your mouth write checks that your offense can't cash isn't a good look. If you need to ask, YES, I'm talking to Rex Ryan.

Two words: Ray...effing..... Lewis! Okay, that's 3 words but you get my point!!

This just in: Mike Vick still got it!

Jason Garrett= Brian Billick

Run Alex Barron... RUN!!!

Redskins fans, it's Wednesday. Enough with the, "We beat the Cowboys" talk. You have a MUCH bigger problem coming to town when you play Houston on Sunday.

Did I say Calvin Johnson Got robbed?!

Philip Rivers.. simma down boo! I know you're passionate when it comes to your craft, but you gotta take it easy... You don't make the hottest faces when you're mad, you know?! LuvUHere!

T.O.- You're a diva. The End!

In Case You Missed It- NFL Weekend Recap

1

Category: , , , , , , , , , ,

This weekend, the NFL had an interesting sequence of events take place .. and it's only preseason. Favre returned, but didn't last long, Tim Cowlishaw made some bold statements and the kickoff of the Gridiron Gals Tour was underway. In case you missed it, here's a quick recap:

TNC Reed towel
I went with my GGals partner Pigskin Loving Lady to the Ravens-Redskins preseason game, and we had a ball! It was the unofficial kickoff of the Gridiron Gals Tour, us going to different stadiums and doing what we do best-enjoy the game of football- while recording our experience. Check out the full video of us by clicking here. (by-the-way, that towel I was wrapped in? Ed Reed's towel that he threw up after the game was over... I'm in lust with it)

Big Ben made his return to the football as he started for the Steelers against the NY Giants. Roethlisberger finished 6-for8 for 76 yards and an INT Pittsburgh's preseason won over the G-Men. The best part about the game was the cat fight between Steelers Ike Taylor and Giants Hakeem Nicks.... they were windmilling everywhere, like two school girls.

I love when players swing on other guys with helmets on, don't you?

A couple of guys got JACKED UP this weekend. First, it was Bengals WR, who took a vicious hit and was woozy afterward against the Philadelphia Eagles.

We know it's only preseason but when that adrenaline gets to rushing, there's nothing you can do to stop that momentum. Shout out to Ocho Cinco for getting up without help.

ESPN's Tim Cowlishaw tweeted some encouraging new for Jets fans over the weekend:

That's great news! Too bad Adam Schefter and Peter King don't seem to agree with this tweet. I dunno about you, but I'd take Schefter word over any other NFL insider. Not sure how Cowlishaw, of all people, would be the one to get such important news. But we'll see how this fares by the end of the week.

And finally... Brett Favre got a nice "Welcome Back" greeting from the San Francisco 49ers last night. Favre played just 4 series, and this was the main reason why:

Old Man Favre went down faster than Hookers At The Point. The Vikings had NO answer for Patrick Willis' stunt up the middle. I'm sure Favre expected a warmer welcome than that. In any event, the 49ers fans (and other fans that are over the Favre drama) were elated.
