What Will JaMarcus Do Now?????

1

Category: , , ,

Now that JaMarcus Russell has been bounced out of Oakland, many wonder what the hell will he do now?! I thought long and hard about Russell's positive attributes, that he can bring to a new situation. I also asked a few of my blogger friends what they thought the former #1 overall pick would be good at. Here are a few things he can do until someone in the NFL is desperate enough to call him for another shot at QB:

Nutri System Spokesperson

Since Lawrence Taylor has recently been dropped due to his rape allegations, this would be a perfect job for JaMarcus. The guy tips the scale at nearly 300 lbs. It would be great to see him transform from a fat boy to a decent sized man. NFL GMs may be interested in giving him a second chance if he can commit to it (since he couldn't commit to be an NFL QB)

This would only be good during Oakland games. We could watch Russell and former Raiders coach Jon Gruden swap war stories about the dysfunctional organization. Gruden can talk about the real reason why Davis shipped him to Tampa.. Russell can talk about how he robbed the blind and senile....... Oh come on... don't act like you wouldn't be interested in this!

Dancing With The Stars

From Jason Taylor, to Emmitt Smith and even Chad Ocho Cinco... Washed up players and attention whore athletes love to use the popular dancing show to get back into the spotlight. Who wouldn't want to see Russell's practice footage of him being late or a no-show, week in and week out, only to come out and suck during his performance because he wasn't prepared. This has comedy and ratings written all over it. Hell, I'd even vote for him every week, just for the behind-the-scenes footage and the laughs.

Jewelry Consultant To The Athletes

Clearly JaMarcus has "interesting" taste in jewelry. The chain around his neck shows how "exotic" his taste in jewelry can get. There are tons of athletes that wait for their first big payday to get that big chain they dreamed about since they were young. Even though I find his chain to be horrendous, I'm sure he could sell his designing skills to some jewelry maker. Think about it: Players walking around with their jersey number around their neck, in nothing but diamonds. All it takes is a good selling point and Russell is the ultimate hustler. Anyone that can get $39 million dollars for only 7 wins is serious!

This is best fitting for his personality. Everytime Russell was shown on the sidelines from being benched, he Kanye shrugged the whole time. He didn't look like he cared or was fazed by it at all. He also did nothing to help get back on the field, like read a playbook, study film or lose weight. The sad thing is, he's really good at it. There are a lot of people that wear their emotions on their sleeves and could learn a lot from his nonchalant attitude. He would be perfect for teaching a , "How Not To Give A Damn 101" class.

Rapper/ "Chunky J"

This would be a perfect job for him, and Chunky J is the perfect name for him. Remember back in the day when there was "Chunky A", Arsenio Hall's alter ego? Well there's no altering about. Dude is HUGE, so the name is a perfect fit. He's already taken the first step to rap stardom with that fugly chain. And with today's music, he won't have to try hard at all, something he's been used to for about 4 years now. All you need is a hot producer and a catchy hook line and you have a hit record. The first song released from his album, "Money To Blow-Remix", featuring Birdman, Lil Wayne and Drake.

The Raiders Have Lost Their Minds Again

First Nnamdi Asomugha, now this.... On twitter today, ESPN correspondent Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders and K Sebastian Janikowski reached a record deal- Here's his tweet:

Ummmmmm......okay.

Remember, it was just one year ago that Skeletor AKA Al Davis gave Raiders CB Asomugha a record deal for a DB- 3 years, $45 million, just to keep him on his dysfunctional team.

Some folks will say that paying Janikowski this much money is the right thing to do, because outside of Asomugha, Janikowski is the next best thing on the roster. Maybe that's true. But Janikowski is a kicker!!!! $4 million per year to kick field goals and place kick offs? That's a bit much, even for a player as important as Janikowski. On the other hand, good for Janikowski to get a huge payday, I can never hate on that. But I'm sure even HE knows he got over like a fat rat, and is laughing all the way to the bank as we speak.

Someone please take Al Davis' checkbook and GM abilities.

The NFL Chick Loves Nnamdi Asomugha- Video

Raiders NFL CB Nnamdi Asomugha isn't just known to be a shut down corner. He's known to help those in need. The high profile NFL player helping Kenneth Chancey, a homeless teenager, who's a straight A student as well as an athlete.

Asomugha created the Asomugha College Tour for students, in which he picks inner city kids and takes them on a college tour, all expenses paid.

This is a great video to watch. Of all the things NFL players do, getting college degrees is something that's not considered newsworthy. Asomugha, a college grad himself, is doing a great thing. Not only is he easy on the eyes, he's educated and doing what he can to help others follow his family's footsteps, all of whom are college grads.

Asomugha, The NFL Chick loves you, not only for being awesome on the football field and a cutie pie, but for your charitable contributions off-the-field.

Raiders Continue To Be Most Dysfunctional Team

The Raiders need to find a new slogan. Long gone are the days of "Commitment To Excellence", and now are the days of "Dysfunctional Family". Where do we begin? Let's start with the most recent event that has come to light.

News reports recently came out that Raiders head coach Tom Cable punched defensive assistant Randy Hanson, after Hanson allegedly used vulgar language towards defensive coordinator John Marshall. Since the initial report, Cable has come out and said that he did not punch Hanson, that he simply flipped Hanson out of his chair, causing him to break a facial bone in his cheek.

Anyone see anything wrong with this picture?????

Okay, first off, let me say this. I know training camp is well under way. I know coaches are just as fired up as the players. And I know that emotions can be at an all time high. And maybe if this happened to another team, we would look at it, talk about, and then move on. But it didn't. It happened to the Oakland Raiders.

Now, we all know that Al Davis is a character, to say the least. But at one point, the Raiders were one of the NFL's elite franchises. Maybe it's old age, but as time goes by, the Raiders got weirder and more dysfunctional. Since 2002, the Raiders have done the following:

-They have had a record of 24-72, one of the worst records in the league during that span.

-They traded head coach Jon Gruden, who took the team to the playoffs in consecutive years, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who eventually beat the Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, by a blowout score of 48-21

-Davis had an awful divorce with head coach Lane Kiffin, even calling Kiffin a liar. Who could forget that press conference. Like to see it?? Here it goes

-They have had 5 head coaching changes, including Kiffin, Bill Callahan and Art Shell

-Davis signed CB Nnamdi Asomugha to a $45.3 million, three-year contract, that's more than most starting QB's currently make.

-Considered a high 2nd round pick, Davis drafted former Maryland WR Darrius Heyward-Bey with the 7th overall pick, drafting him over more proven receives such as Michael Crabtree and Jeremy Maclin

The Raiders have made some strides in improving the team. This offseason, they signed free agent QB Jeff Garcia, to compete with JaMarcus Russell for the starting position. And with a healthy Darren McFadden, Oakland could have one of the most talented backfields, with McFadden, Michael Bush and Justin Fargas.

Unless something changes, the Raiders will continue to be labeled one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL. They definitely have talent to make them competitive, but the consistency starts with the ownership. In order for the Raiders to be a force again, Davis needs to rely on more than just speed in terms of drafting players and signing free agents. Second, bringing in a great coaching staff will help with the development of the young players. Now, I'm not saying Cable isn't it, but this recent situation doesn't help his case, either. Being stable at the coaching position is crucial to a good organization. And finally, hire some consultants and actually LISTEN to their ideas and what they have to say. Al Davis has to allow people to assist him in running a first class organization. All of the successful organizations such as New England, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis all have people who have duties in making the team better.

Raiders fans are more than ready to get back to the days of "Just Win Baby". If Davis doesn't right this ship soon.... well, let's just say, this situation won't be pretty.

John Madden has officially retired from broadcasting!!!!!

Now, I know some of you are sooo happy he's retiring for a number of reasons, mainly because you no longer have to hear the Brett Favre love fest that John Madden has going on. You probably are praising the football gods for blessing you with such Good News
Photobucket

But there are some that will be sad about his departure. You might find some old school Raiders fan out there, at his job right now, sobbing at his desk...silently weeping.. Because he knows the "commitment to excellence" has been gone since Madden left the organization decades ago.

It's okay old school Raiders fan... shed a tear... we understand...

Personally, I'll miss Madden.. I'll miss him drawing circles on players that moved out of that spot 3 seconds ago. Or when he brings up the "Turducken" conversation during the holiday season... Or talk about how great Brett Favre was/is (yeah I know I already mentioned him. But if Madden can be redundant, then dammit, so can I!). Who's gonna hold Al Michaels down in the booth now??? I feel the same way I felt when Whitney and Bobby broke up. The broadcasting booth will never be the same again.

Thank you John Madden, for your presence in the world of football and all of the memories. But most of all, thank you for creating that wonderful game you have. Thank you for giving me the power to shut my house down if I ever took that game away. So long Madden...... whether you were loved or hated, you will be missed........
