Sitcho Azz Down, DeAngelo Hall!

DeAngelo Hall STFU

Someone really needs to send DeAngelo Hall a memo to STFU. In response to Sunday's loss to the Texans in OT( the Redskins were up 10 pts in the 4th quarter), Hall had this to say about Texans WR Andre Johnson:

"This is my first time going against him in the league. I gave him a lot of props during the game. During the game, he didn't scare me. He didn't do anything that looked spectacular. He didn't do anything to make me feel like he was the best.

"Maybe the numbers indicate he is, but I didn't feel that way when I lined up against him. He caught a lot of balls in zone and was just kind of running wide open in zones, not really man-to-man.

"We were hitting Schaub. We had him rattled. I felt like we were dominating those guys, hitting Schaub whenever we wanted to. He was falling down, you know, without anybody even around him, like Peyton Manning does a lot."

Oh really?!

Hall had a whole lot to say, especially about an offense that put up 526 yards against his defense. But let's be clear, Andre Johnson is a beast. One of the best WRs in the league right now, but not talked about often, mainly because he doesn't run his mouth like others in his position. Your defense coordinator played zone defense for a reason. Had your DC played tons of man coverage, you better believe Johnson would've had more than 158 yards. So playing zone was the best option from being exposed to the player you are..... In the words of Warren Sapp, "What I Miss???"

Andre Johnson Redskins catch

I love the way Johnson responds. When told about Hall's comments, Johnson had this to say,

"I mean, those are his thoughts. The scheme that they ran, if he wanted to play me man-to-man, he should have told his coaches before the game. That's not my problem. For them to be running zone coverages like that with the safety over the top, and for me to still have 12 catches for 158 yards, somebody wasn't doing their job."

*snicker*

Note to DeAngelo Hall: Anytime a guy can catch 158 yards in a game, and grab the game-tying TD pass, he's as advertised. Give Johnson his props, he's damn good at what he does. Talking like this makes you sound foolish!

NFL Tuesday Round-Up

Category: , , , , , , ,

Last night's game between the Saints and 49ers was a great MNF game (Baltimore/NY Jets, are you reading this?!). That's what fans expect for a MNF game. Excitement, nail biting and good football. But last's night's game didn't come without injury. Saints RB Reggie Bush is expected to be out at least 6 weeks with a fractured fibula in his right leg.

MRI tests will be done today to confirm the injury. Keep ya head up, Reggie!

-Even being 0-2, I still expect the 49ers to win the division. Alex Smith grew up last night, something we expected to see from him 5 years ago, coming out of the draft. I guess it's better late then never. I added Smith in my Top 20 QB list for 2010, so he better not make a fool out of me!

-Braylon Edwards was arrested for a DWI charge last night. According to the NY Post, here's the skinny:

Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards was busted on a drunken driving charge early this morning, after cops pulled him over on the West Side and found he had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system, police said.

Braylon Edwards

Edwards, 27, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. and charged with DWI, after cops pulled over his Range Rover at 34th Street and 12th Avenue for having overly-tinted windows. Police said they smelled alcohol and Edwards blew a 0.16 on a Breathalyzer, or double the state's legal limit of 0.08.

I guess Braylon was still teaching folks how to dougie like the day before in the Pats game. Except this time there was liquor.. and maybe girls... and with a car..... Just look at this mugshot, courtesy of WPIX in NY:

Braylon Edwards mugshot

Looking like a bad Rick Ross impersonator. Go sitcho azz down, Braylon. And take that beard with you!

-In other news, Kurt Warner made his appearance on Dancing With The Stars. He and dance partner Anna Trebunskaya came out swinging, doing the Viennese Waltz to start the season. If Warner can waltz NEARLY as good as he can Walk It Out, than he should be a Top 3 dancer when it's all said and done!

Sitcho Azz Down, Dan Hampton!

Former Bears defensive lineman Dan Hampton is the recipient of this week's Sitcho Azz Down award. During a Pro Football Weekly show, Hampton (along with a panel of 3 other analysts) were making their NFL picks. As the panel chose their winner for the Vikings/Saints game, Hampton said the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time:

Like Katrina?!?! REALLY?! There are some analogies that should never be made. Comparing a Vikings possible victory to a natural disaster that people are STILL rebuilding from is classless and even disrespectful to the residents of New Orleans.

Now is the time for Hampton to find some class and recant his statement. I'm sure you were looking for a great TV moment. Instead, you've come up with one of the worst Sitcho Azz Down moments in the history of the NFL Chick's series.

Dan Hampton, sitcho insensitive azz down!

Sitcho Azz Down, Julious Javone Threatts

Category: , , , ,

I swear, just when you think you've heard it all.......

People can love football too much, apparently. Julious Javone Threatts of Tampa, FL loves it so much, that he decided to pose as a 14 year-old boy and join the Tampa Bay Youth Football League. There's just one problem- Threatts is 21 years old!!!!

According to naplesnews.com, here's how everything went down:

Steve Levinson, president of the football league, said Threatts played for the now defunct West Coast Youth Football Conference last year, trained again during the spring and then joined the Tampa Bay league at the beginning of this season. Levinson said the person he knew as Chad Jordan turned in all the necessary registration paperwork, including a copy of his birth certificate, which officials now realize must have been fake.

McCloud said Threatts told the team that his parents had died in a car accident and he was being raised by an older brother. "It was like a movie," McCloud said.

The coach began to investigate, asking around to see if anyone knew who "Chad" really was.

Finally, he found someone who knew the truth. A friend from Threatt's neighborhood told McCloud that while Threatt's father died in a car accident in St. Petersburg last year, his mother was alive, McCloud said.

McCloud found Threatt's Facebook page, which lists his mother as Debra Miller. It also says Threatts graduated from Leto High School.

Town and Country Packers coach Ray McCloud seems to feel some empathy for the kid... excuse me.. MAN!

"I don't think he was good enough to play semipro or anything. This might sound crazy, but I feel sorry for him ... they say he's a man, but he really acted like a sweet kid. After all the stuff that I found out, he still had me second guessing myself. That's how good he was."

Photobucket

What in the world?? So this GROWN AZZ MAN (who, by-the-way, was on probation for burglary charges) pretended to be a kid just to play football?? There aren't any rec teams in the area he could have played for instead?? Talk about re-living your youth.... this dude took it too far! Now Threatts faces charges of trespassing on school grounds, obstruction by a disguised person and violation of probation, all in the name of playing football.

A lot of us love football as much as the next person. But please don't let football be the reason you go to jail, people. Julious Javone Threatts, go sitcho pressed azz down!

The Emergence Of Ed Reed's Mouth

7

Category: , , , , ,

If you follow the Baltimore Ravens or Ed Reed closely, than you would know that Pro Bowl S Ed Reed has always been known as a quiet guy. A guy who doesn't really speak with reporters much, rarely speaks to them when he has great games and non existent when the Ravens lose. And we've grown to accept and respect Reed's silence.

But now... Reed won't shut up.

Reed has decided to open up lately.... a LOT. And it's gotten to the point where some of his comments are becoming petty. Reed has recently given sound byte after sound byte to the local media, in an uncharacteristic way. Let's take a look at the things Reed has sounded off about in the past week alone:

His Contract

Reed has said publicly that he was looking for a new deal (he's 3 years into a 6-year, $ 40 million deal). When asked by 105.7 the Fan, a Baltimore radio station, Reed said the following, “I’m not making it a big deal. I think it needs to be taken care of”. He then elaborated more about his current contract by saying the following, "There are six, seven players in front of me [financially] at my position that I honestly wouldn't let hold my jock, and I don't even wear one,"

Photobucket

Well alright!!!!!!

Listen, Reed is a smart guy. He knows his value and wants to be treated as such. However I think 3 things about his comments. One, it's hard to ask for a new deal when you are only at 35%, according to your own account. This is and always be a, "What have you done for me" kind of league anyway. Second, at the time he received the contract, he was the highest paid safety in the league, and rightfully so. But now, because someone else is getting more money than you, you fuss? There's a chance that a guy will get a new contract every year and somehow make more than you. Is your contract supposed to be restructured every year??? And lastly, letting us know you don't wear a jock strap is info that I don't think many of us needed.. we got your point without the visuals.

On Marc Bulger
Bulger Marc,Bulger Marc

When the subject of newly acquired QB Marc Bulger came up, Reed showed his utmost support for backup Troy Smith while taking a shot at Bulger, all at once. In another interview Reed said, "I honestly think at the quarterback position Troy was the guy and is the guy, and he's more than qualified to lead the team to a championship. And I think that Marc Bulger is just another guy. He's just another guy that has been in the league and been around."

Another guy? Let's see..... Bulger is a 2 time Pro Bowler who is very capable at the backup role. While some of his years on record seem bad on the surface, Bulger has dealt with injuries and an awful offensive line to match. At this point, Bulger has done more than Smith as far as experience. I have no problem with supporting a teammate and a friend. But to make a shot at Bulger was tacky.

On His "Lack Of Support" From The Team

A couple of days after Reed said he wouldn't elaborate in his "minor" rift with the team, he opened his mouth anyway. Reed told the Ravens flagship station WBAL AM that the team wasn't being supportive by ...........................................................wait for it...........................................................................not giving him film to study.

I don't make this up if I could. Reed told reporters, "I had to give an excuse, that's what was told to me. This is the organization that you want me to play for. I got the text message to prove it, so this ain't nothing I'm not lying about."

Reed goes a step further by saying, "I don't have to be playing for them. I could retire. I don't need the money. They could come and get the money if they want. Money don't me. Money didn't put me here."

Photobucket

Uhhhhh......... okay!!!!

Listen, I'm sure this is something that could have been ironed out smoothly. Maybe even a misunderstanding or something. So you go into a , "I don't have to be playing for them" rant to the PUBLIC because you didn't get some game film??? While I know Reed is a guy that loves to study the game, I don't think this was something that should have been brought to the public light. This sounds petty as hell, if you ask me. I'm sure this is something that could have been dealt with accordingly.

My Take: This sounds to me like the classic case of child wanting the toy, not getting it right away, and having a tantrum in the middle of the store. I think we all agree that Reed should be paid for his worth. I'm not mad in the least that he's looking for a new deal. But it's the WAY he conducts his business that is very petty. Being 35% healthy may not be the best time to re-hash the whole contract thing, Ed. maybe once you're back on the field, it can/should be visited. But until then, get healthy... and STFU!

Sitcho Azz Down, Media Outlets!

If you haven't heard, the latest edition of, "Kicking Big Ben While He's Down" comes from a golf course. Sources say Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger was allegedly urinating on a private golf course and was spotted by a female, who than called authorities. This has been all over the sports media outlets since yesterday, when the story first broke.

WOW!

For the record, never will you hear me defend Ben Roethlisberger. While I think he is a very good QB, I think dude is a major douche lord when it comes to women. I think his teammates don't care much for him and I even think the fans in Pittsburgh are tired of his shenanigans. But urinating on a golf course is simply NOT newsworthy. Is it nasty? Yes! Is it newsworthy? Not in the least.

With everything going on in the sports world, i.e. George Steinbrenner's passing, The LeBron-to-Miami craze, and even the MLB All Star Game (okay.. maybe not so much the All-Star Game, but I tried........), there are too many other newsworthy stories to be told right now. This one, however, isn't one of them.

I decided to map out Dublin, OH. It's dead smack in the middle of Cleveland and Cincinnati, with Pittsburgh lurking in the wings, east of the city.
Photobucket
Maybe this lady is a huge Browns or Bengals fan and spotted Ben's head a mile away, and decided to start trouble? Maybe there is NOTHING that goes on in Dublin so this is newsworthy in that city. But to make national news? As of right now, no charges or fines have been filed against Roethlisberger. This is a non story at this point.

Media outlets, go sitcho azz down!!!!

Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson talked with ESPN's Sal Paolantonio about his new home in NY and revealed his new tattoo: A Jets logo with "2010-" below it, on his leg. Tomlinson also has a Chargers tattoo with the years 2001-2010 below, marking the duration of his career in San Diego, on his other leg. Tomlinson says the Chargers tattoo are marking the end of his SD career. The Jets tattoo is marking, "a new birth being born"in his career in NY.

Also during the interview, Tomlinson was asked that, if he wins a Super Bowl with the Jets and makes it to the NFL Hall Of Fame, does he go in as a Jet, or as a Charger? LT's response:

"Interesting"

LOL that was so cute... NOT!
Photobucket

I've always been a fan of LT. I think he's one of the greater RBs of our modern NFL times. But he's thrown me for a loop with this one. Getting a tattoo of your new squad is a bit extra, and Sal Paolantonio even notices it by saying he's never seen a person get a tattoo so quickly after signing to a new squad. We get it... you want to move on from San Diego. But tatting yourself up before training camp seems to be kind of...well...pressed, actually.

What got me the most is the answer in which he gave Sal after the HOF question. I don't care if he wins 3 Super Bowls with the Jets, he will always be remembered as a Charger first. His 2006 season (one of the best single seasons for a RB) was done as a Charger. A Super Bowl doesn't change any of that. There's nothing interesting about it, Tomlinson will go to Canton in powder blue- not gang green- and to not even acknowledge that is foolish at best.

LT go sitcho simple azz down!

Dwayne Bowe- Sitchoazz Down!

Category: , , , ,

People never cease to amaze me anymore. Just when you think you know some things would NEVER happen... the universe always finds a way to prove you wrong.

Kansas City WR Dwayne Bowe spoke some telling revelations to ESPN The Magazine recently, regarding his teammates and certain "activities" they take part of while traveling for away games. Here's what Bowe had to say:

"My rookie year, we were playing in San Diego," Bowe says. "You hear stories about groupies hanging out in hotel lobbies, but some of my teammates had it set up so there was a girl in every room. The older guys get on MySpace and Facebook a week before we go to a city; when a pretty one writes back, they arrange to fly her in three or four days in advance. They call it importing.

"Younger guys don't have the money to do it," Bowe added. "Anyway, these girls had the whole top floor. They know everything about us -- first and last names, sisters and brothers, salary. This one girl was talking to me like she'd known me for years. 'Hey, D-Bowe, how's Grandma?' I'm like, 'How do you know my grandma?' She knew that I talk about her every time I'm interviewed for a story.

"I told her I had a girlfriend, but she didn't care. She was wearing my jersey, sitting in my lap, making it look like we knew each other. Then she took a picture and put it on Facebook. That almost got me in trouble."

WOW!

First things first, while I'm sure no one is actually surprised of these tales, what is the point in actually making them public? I was always taught that the NFL is similar to a fraternity. Guys look out for each other and have a brotherhood that is similar to being frat brothers. Not only did he rat out fellow NFL players, but these are guys on his OWN TEAM! Guys that he has to practice with, play with, room with... everything. He's totally become the locker room snitch with telling such stories. Where I come from, we had a saying, "Snitches get stitches." I wonder how long Bowe will stay "healthy" this season?? I wouldn't be shocked if a teammate puts a little extra "hot sauce" on a contact drill, come training camp.
Photobucket

Second, did anyone find it humorous that he tried to clean up his own personal encounter? Sure, he told us the girl was waiting for him in his jersey, sat on his lap and started spilling all she knew about him. But he also stated that he told her he had a girlfriend.

Photobucket

I don't know about you, but I'm willing to bet that there aren't many Tim Tebow's in the NFL, Bowe included. Funny how his own story pretty much stops at a picture being posted on Facebook, but he went into a little more detail of the "operations" of other players. Yeah.......okay.

And finally, not once did he think about the position his put his teammates in when it comes to their homes. Now, let me say this before I get tons of emails: I DO NOT CONDONE SUCH ACTIONS STATED BY MR. BOWE!!!! What these players have been accused of doing is WRONG, especially if they have a wife and children at home. Cheating isn't cool (unless you have an open relationship. But that's another topic for another day). But let's think about the guys who don't partake in such activities for one second. Because Bowe has put this out there, this could have planted a seed of insecurity in just about every girlfriend/wife of a Chiefs player. The guys out here that are actually faithful to their spouses and significant others now have to go through scrutiny and reassurance of being faithful, all because Dwayne Bowe wants to make nice with the media and spill secrets I'm sure players didn't expect to come from one of their own.

Regardless of what was said, Dwayne Bowe was wrong. This is bitchassness at its finest moment.
Photobucket
He turned his back on his teammates, and he's creating unnecessary problems in some players homes. If one wants to tell on themselves, I have no issues with that. But to put your teammates into your story isn't right. As a result of his diarrhea of the mouth, he's received backlash from teammates (guilty ones, maybe??) and head coach Todd Haley had a "long conversation" with Bowe. All predictable due to the fact that he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

Dwayne Bowe, Sitcho Snitching Azz Down!

Sitchoazz Down Vernon Davis!!!!

Category: , , , , ,

It's back! The blog post everyone love. It's time for Sitchoazz Down!

This week's award was hard to choose from. The award could have easily went to former Browns QB Derek Anderson for the comments he made about Cleveland's fans, after his release. But I actually thought that was pretty funny (if you didn't hear what he said, click here). So, I couldn't TRULY give it to him if I giggled.

So on to the next one... This weeks award goes to San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis. And with good reason.

If you have been living under a rock, then you haven't heard the news. Washington, DC's Coolidge High School just hired Natalie Robinson to be the first black female head coach of the school's varsity football team.

Of course, this news comes with tons of controversy, especially from the male side. This weekend on Twitter, Vernon Davis let it be known, his feelings on the new head coach near his home town:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

First off, it's ridiculous that you can't spell RIDICULOUS. Listen, I know Twitter doesn't have to be grammar perfect. But when you are about to discuss a sensitive topic, I expect all T's crossed, and all I's dotted. Dumb ass!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Okay, he went apples and oranges just that fast. What the hell does a woman football coach have anything to do with a woman's strength coach?!?!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

*sexist tweet*
Ummmm.. FYI Mr. Davis, there ARE male cheerleaders out there. Actually, there are male cheerleaders in the NFL. No I'm not making it up. If you think I am, GOOGLE IT!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Okay, this is when the convo totally went left for me..........................

The day that Vernon Davis himself can run a better route than Jerry Rice, is the day he can say something so asinine. This is a guy who was a former 1st round draft pick, but has had an average-at-best NFL career . And you want a female to run a better route than Mr. Jesus In Cleats himself, in Jerry Rice. Well, 99% of the guys in the league already can't run Jerry Rice-type routes, yourself included.

As a female, I'm extremely proud of Ms. Robinson and her accomplishment. But at the same time, I do wonder how she will be able to handle the adversity as well as the high levels of testosterone, which she will have to deal with on a regular basis. While I'm not exactly sure how this will turn out, I support her and the school's decision 100% and hopes she proves the critics wrong.

Vernon Davis has a right to his opinion, and I'm not even mad about his reservations, especially since I have some myself. But it's all about delivery. His tweets came off to be insensitive and chauvinist at times. Dude needs a huge timeout in the STFU chair, at least until his NFL career can become relevant to anyone outside the Bay area.

Vernon Davis, Sitcho irrelevant-azz Down!

Terrell Owens- Go Sitchoazz DOWN!!!!

Category: , , , , , , ,

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I've never been a big Terrell Owens fan, until I started watching the T.O. Show. I always perceived Owens to be a egotistical maniac who never accepts responsibility and causes nothing but trouble. However, watching his show made me see why he was the way he was and for that, I became sympathetic and even started to like him a little. But not anymore.

Regarding how he thought his career should have gone, Owens told USA Today in an interview:

"I know hands-down I'd be close to Jerry Rice's records if I had been with quality quarterbacks like he had.He had Joe Montana and he finished with Steve Young. That wasn't a dropoff.

"Say I had been with a guy like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees all of my career. Are you kidding me?"

Are YOU kidding ME?!

This is the same guy who had Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo as the guys throwing to him during his career. I'm not gonna even count Steve Young, but if you want to add him for general purposes, bring him in the convo too.

Garcia and McNabb were Pro Bowl caliber players when Owens played for them. While Romo was just starting to progress, Owens still caught over 3,000 yards and 36 TDs while in Dallas.

Remember, this is the same guy that blocked a trade to Baltimore, because Kyle Boller was the QB. Not that I blame him- Boller was pretty bad- but to say the other QBs he's played for affected his career numbers is pretty laughable to me. Owens is crying again...... I guess we having given him any attention since he played on the lowly Bills last season.

This is the time when Kita and Mo (his publicists) need to step in and tell him to STFU. With the QBs he's managed to have, he's 3rd All-Time in receiving yards as well as TDs. Clearly his career numbers can't be THAT bad if he's right up there with Rice. Nothing wrong with shooting for the moon, but to throw your players under the bus is classless.

Terrell Owens, Sitchoazz Down!

Hines Ward, Sitchoazz Down!!!!

Category: , , , ,

Last night, Bob Costas did an interview with Steelers WR Hines Ward about playing with concussions in the NFL, particularly about fellow teammate Ben Roethlisberger, who suffered a concussion the week before in Kansas City. What happened next was sort of surreal... unbelievable, if you will.

Ward went on the record to say that about half of the Steelers locker room think it's a "50/50 toss up", saying that the players thought Ben should have been able to play. Ward mentioned that Ben had practiced during the week, expecting to play and made comments such as, "It's just a concussion".

To be quite frank, Ward is a dumb ass. The NFL is not taking the issue of concussions lightly anymore, and they shouldn't. For a teammate to question his ability to play is crazy. Football is a violent game, but it's only one aspect of the players lives. When a player retires, life goes on. And for a player with multiple concussions, that could be difficult. Memory loss, emotional and behavioral issues and even impaired judgment can all be a factor from a person who has suffered a concussion.

Ben has always been dubbed as a drama queen when it has come to his injuries. There's always been this huge cloud on whether Ben will play leading up until game time, but he was absolutely right on sitting this one out. Ben's latest concussion makes 3 since he's been in the league. Allowing him to rest and get better was a huge step to the NFL taking this concussion epidemic seriously. Love him or hate him, I don't think you could ever question Ben's toughness. I've seen Ben take huge hits and still get up to make plays.

For Hines Ward to throw Ben under the bus was asinine and ignorant. Ward is a father himself. I can't imagine he'd be pleased if he couldn't remember key moments in his child's life, all because he didn't sit out when he had a concussion. While I understand he wanted his best player on the field in a huge division rival game, his words were extremely selfish.

Hines Ward, sitcho selfish azz down!

Sitchoazz Down- The Trois Edition

1

Category: , , , , ,

This week, I found not one, not two, but THREE recipients of the Sitchoazz Down award this week. Let's start with this group, shall we.

Bud Adams, Tennessee Titans Owner

The Titans owner was super excited during Sunday's 41-17 victory over the Buffalo Bills. So excited, in fact, that he decided to flip the bird off to fans, minutes after NFL commish Roger Goodell left the luxury suite they were both in.

The NFL didn't take it lightly and fined Adams $250,000 for his behavior, but one has to ask: Why is an 86-year-old man giving the finger to people? My guess is, he took too many Geritols and somehow had a 60-year flashback to stunts during his college years. While I did snicker when I heard about this, he should know better. Adams needs to sit his old azz down!

Tila Tequila, Reality Star and Ex-Girlfriend to Shawne Merriman

Remember, right before the NFL Season kicked off, Tila Tequila had then-boyfriend Shawne Merriman arrested for assault and battery, alleging that he grabbed her and shook her like a rag doll. The District Attorney later dropped the case, saying there wasn't enough evidence to back her story.

Well, Ms. Tequila has since filed a lawsuit against the Chargers LB, asking for $1.5 million in damages. On Tequila's twitter page, she said the following regarding her lawsuit:

@officialTila: Tila Tequila sues Merriman for $1.5 Million Dollars & will donate money to charity

If Ms. Tequila is a victim of domestic violence, then I certainly think that seeking justice is the right thing to do. But suing a guy and giving it to charity??? I smell a big, fat liar and a person who's desperate for attention. During this whole ordeal, Tila has been uber messy, posting tweets saying that Merriman was under roid rage and making other comments that ultimately hurt her case when pressing charges. I have no idea who her attorney is, but they need to put a big, fat muzzle on this chick. If she wants to help someone, then do a PSA on domestic violence. But this sounds to me like she just wants her name to be brought up because her 15 minutes have come and gone. Tila Tequila, sitcho attention-needin' azz down!

Dwayne Bowe, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs organization have had an awful last 7-10 days. First, Larry Johnson was given his walking papers. Now Bowe has been suspended for violating the NFL's policy against performance enhancing substances.

Bowe's agent clarified that he did not take any type of steroid, that is was a dietary pill to help him lose weight.

Excuse me if I sound like a non-believer, but isn't there a list that says what players can and can't take??? And if you are unclear of what the list consists of, isn't there someone you can ask so there isn't a situation like this, that will arise?? I don't know about you, but I think Bowe is either a dumb ass or a liar. With so many supplements and substances banned in the NFL, shouldn't someone be a little smarter about what they put into their bodies? And now you hurt your team by being suspended for a month, a team that already sucked when you were active. Just great! Dwayne, sitcho dumb azz down!

The NFL Chick's NFL Midseason Review

2

Category: , , ,

Time flies, it's already Week 9 of the NFL season. I remember Week 1 just like it was yesterday. This is the time of year that we start to see who are the real playoff contenders, from those that are playoff pretenders. We also see a lot of bad teams either get worse, or squeak a win during the final weeks of the season (when the other starters are resting, of course).

So here my special edition of this year's Midseason Report, NFL Chick style.

Gold Star Winners

Colts, Saints

Both teams are playing lights out football right now. In my opinion, there are the Colts and Saints, and then there is everybody else. You can make a case for Minnesota here, but they lost to Pittsburgh and was a field goal miss away from having 2 losses. These two teams are the cream of the crop until they lose.

Two Thumbs Up Because You Rock

Vikings, Broncos, Steelers, Patriots, Eagles

I don't think anyone expected the Steelers, Pats, Eagles and Vikings to be anything less than very good. But I would bet money that no one outside of Denver saw the Broncos as a 6-1 team at this point. Every year the NFL has a surprise team, and the Broncos have filled that position for 2009 season.. so far anyway. While you can make a case easily that all of these teams should be with the gold star click, they aren't undefeated.

You're Good.. But How Good ARE You????

Bengals, Ravens, Cowboys, Texans, Packers

All of these teams have potential and talent. But they aren't clear cut to me at the moment. Before you Bengals fans come in my blog with that "Who Dey" talk, The Cleveland game is still stuck in my mind. One of the most awful teams in the league took you to OT and almost to a tie. The Bears rout was great, but let's be real, the Bears are the most suspect 4-3 out there. The Ravens lost 3 close games to good teams by a combined 11 points. They aren't over the hump. The Texans have offense to put numbers up, but will be tested when they play Indy this weekend. And the Cowboys have beat the likes of the Bucs, Chiefs, Seahawks and Panthers, all subpar teams. Let's see how they play Philly on Sunday night. Tha Pack had 2 desicive losses to the Favre -led Vikings.

C'Mon Son!

Falcons, Giants, Cardinals

The Giants and the Falcons had great starts but have struggled as of late. The G-Men have gone from 5-0 to 5-3 and the Falcons went from 4-1 to losing 2 straight. The Cardinals didn't have as great a start, but won 3 in a row before they lost to the lowly Panthers. All of these teams went to the playoffs in 2008, with the Cards being the NFC representative in last season's Super Bowl. But they are at a huge crossroads right now. C'mon son, get it together! Folks expect more out of this group. And I expect them to right the ship during the second half of the season.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde/Sybil Syndrome

Chargers, Bears, 49ers, Jets, Dolphins,

I have no idea what will happen when any of these teams take the field. All have played good football in one game, then laid a big fat goose egg the next. I don't trust any of these teams at this point. The Chargers always have a slow start with a strong finish, so I can only assume this year is no different. But this group is a crap shoot. I tend to flip a coin when choosing their games. These teams give the term "Bi Polar" a new meaning.

Delusional

Seahawks, Jaguars, Redskins, Bills, Panthers, Titans

I know deep inside you think there is still a small possibility that you could make the playoffs. But I'm here to tell you... you won't. Stop lying to yourselves! There's no hope for you. Go Sitchoazz Down!

The Rejects

Buccaneers, Browns, Lions, Rams, Raiders, Chiefs

If you are a fan of any of the mentioned teams then you already know.....your record smells like month old garbage. Time to start scouting top 5 draft picks. See ya' next year. It's been fun!

NFL Week 8 Recap And Thoughts

Category: , , , , ,

Excuse me while I continue to beam. I am still singing the praises of the Ravens win on Sunday.

I don't care if it was a win against the 6-0 Broncos or the 0-6 Rams, a win takes away 3 tough losses. The best way to keep fans from jumping ship is a quality win, and the Ravens did that in every phase of the game. They but up 24 second half points against a Denver team who was known for been very stingy in the 3rd and 4th quarter. The road doesn't get easy, we have the Bengals this Sunday and it will be a tough match up, but I think my guys are ready to right the ship.

-Thank you 49ers fans.. for giving every underdog lover lover high hopes and no results. Just when I thought the Colts would suffer their first loss, Peyton and 'nem start the charge and come out with a victory, AGAIN. It gets harder and harder every week to root for an underdog. They never finish what they start.

*NEWSFLASH*
The St Louis Rams finally get a win!!!! The Rams won the Toilet Bowl game over the Detroit Lions, 17-10.

Rams RB Stephen Jackson had a great game, with 149 rushing yards and a TD to seal the deal. But if you saw the highlights, it was a god awful game to watch for much of the duration. Tampa Bay, if the Rams and Browns can win a game, then there is hope!

-Dear NY Giants, as a Ravens fan, I know what you are going through. Pick your face up off the floor and get back to sound, fundamental football, or else you're in BIG trouble.

-Dear Philadelphia Eagles, DeSean Jackson is a beast! That is all.

*extra point* The ref that fell during the Giants-Eagles game.. one question.. Why????? No one was there to push you.. What the hell???

-The AFC North and the NFC East are mirror divisions right now. Three strong teams at the top, in a very close race for 1st place with one crappy team in the cellar. Ironically the two cellar teams are the ones that's been in the news lately. The Redskins with sign banning and the Browns with planning protests. Can't we just but these two teams in the NFC West so those divisions can be great??!!

*WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM FOR A SITCHOAZZDOWN MOMENT*

BartScott, your post game sarcasm in the Jets loss to the Dolphins reeks of bitchassness. Miami beat you twice. Whether or not you thought you were the better team, you had 2 chances to beat them and you didn't. Sitcho hating azz down and go back to the drawing board.

*Now back to your regularly scheduled program*

-Shout out to the Titans who finally won a game. I told Chris Johnson via twitter that they wouldn't win until Week 10. I guess I was 2 weeks too early. Oh well, I can be wrong sometimes, can't I?

-Y'all know I did a total 180 from being the biggest Favre fan not from Wisconsin, to hating his diva ways. But I cannot hate on the fact that at 40 years of age, Brett Lorenzo Favre can play better than over half of the QBs in this league right now. His 2 games against Green Bay have been nothing short of remarkable.

-With that said, poor Aaron Rodgers.

-Jack Delhomme gave Kurt Warner his INT cooties on Sunday.

-Am I the only one who thinks this season of Monday Night Football has been one of the best seasons in a while? The games have been fun to watch and I've watched at least 3 games this season through the entire game. I love watching a great game, and last night's game with the Falcons and Saints didn't disappoint. While the Falcons lost to the Saints 35-27, they showed the entire time that they were not going down without a fight. There is nothing better than watching good, inspired football. Now all of this may be equipped to change in 2 weeks when the Browns host the Ravens in their Monday Night contest. But so far, so good.

Sitcho Azz Down Awards- The Dummy Edition

Okay, now you know I only give out this award when it's needed. This week's winner wasn't hard to pick at all. All I can say is, he's a huge idiot! This week's Sitcho Azz Down Award goes to none other than.....................................

You guessed it. Chiefs RB Larry Johnson
Photobucket

Mr Johnson has gotten himself in a bit of trouble lately. Apparently, he didn't get the memo that gay slurs is NOT hot in the streets, and has since learned the hard way that such words will result in some kind of disciplinary action.

According to the KC Star, after Sunday's loss to the Chargers, Johnson told a bunch of reporters that he wasn't talking until Thursday and to get their "F*ggot ass" out of there.

Johnson then went into a twitter tirade (his twitter name is @ToonIcon, which is a protected page), going hard at Chiefs head coach Todd Haley and said the following things via his timeline:

"My father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches."

"My father played for the coach from "rememeber the titans". Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn."

Oh, but he wasn't done, just yet. He then proceeded to have a tweet war with a person via twitter, telling one person that they had a "f*g pic", among other things.

When I heard it was Larry Johnson behind all of this, I wasn't the least bit shocked. Did we forget about the 2 separate incidents in which he received probation for mushing a woman's head and spitting on another? I used to think he was fine as wine until those incidents happened. I never looked at him the same again.Although Johnson has since apologized for his comments, I think it's nothing more than a PR move and a poor attempt of not getting suspended.

First off, let's discuss the obvious. Johnson will be 30 in about 3 weeks. For a struggling running back, this could not have come at a worse time.
Photobucket
Running backs in the NFL aren't hot commodities, they're disposable. Just a couple of years ago, Johnson was THE player to have on your fantasy team. Now all of a sudden, dude has to fight of a fantasy spot, with a dismal 2.7 yards per carry 7 weeks into the 2009 season. Of all the years to create an issue, this isn't the year. Johnson is slower, doesn't look like he puts in 100% on the field, and on a bad team. All indications that we may have seen the last of him in a Chiefs uniform.

Secondly, I remember when people were calling Johnson the same names, for his alleged apartment sharing with music mogul Jay Z a few years back. Out of all the people, Johnson should know first hand how it feels to be called such names. I was always taught to treat people the way I want to be treated. How can you be comfortable with being so reckless in name calling, when you were on the other end of the spectrum not long ago?!
Photobucket

To be frank, Larry Johnson is a dumbass. He's ignorant, and lacks respect for others. Airing out frustrations due to a loss isn't how you deal with things. I'm not in the business of calling people names, but dude is a real douche bag. A suspension is definitely necessary and I'm glad the Chiefs are looking into the possibility of doing just that. Such actions shouldn't be tolerated.

It's time! Yes, there are so many people that need to sit their azz down, and it's time to call them out. I'm so sick of man-divas and I'm calling you out today!

Michael Crabtree
Photobucket

After months of holding out, complaining and looking to be paid higher than the 10th overall pick, Crabtree finally decides to sign with the 49ers. Excuse me if I could care less. Sounds to me like a perfect case of "They're gonna need me more than I need them" gone wrong. You see, Crabtree probably assumed that the 49ers really needed them and that they weren't gonna be a decent squad (if Shaun Hill was your QB, I'd assume you would have thought the same). But the 49ers are 3-1 and are one play away from being 4-0. Shaun Hill is playing well and they look just fine without his services, please and thank you.

So now the pressure is on. Crabtree doesn't have a contract and he's missing out on doing what he loves to do, which is play football. And because the 49ers are playing well, they don't need to hound him about signing a contract. So he and his agent buckle down and get a deal done.

Now Crabtree has missed all offseason activities and training camp all in the name of greed. At blog time (similar to press time, LOL) , the contract details weren't released, but I'm guessing not much was changed from the initial contract offered to him.

Crabtree is a diva who had a serious reality check. I hope he plays well in the NFL, because if not this dude can easily be the laughing stock of the league if he doesn't produce on the field. I hope Mike Singletary makes him pay for every day he's missed so far. Gotta love the guy, NOT! Go sitcho spoiled azz down!

Tom Brady
Photobucket
During the Ravens-Pats game on Sunday, Ravens TB Terrell Suggs fell down and barely brushed the leg of Tom Brady. So what does Brady do??? Point to the ref and lobby for a flag.

Now, this is when it gets ugly. Brady starts clapping, pointing and borderline taunting Suggs for getting the penalty. It was truly classless on his part. I've been told a million times, don't be mad at Brady, be mad at the refs for listening to Brady, he's just doing what most would. Bull Hockey! Cause I don't remember Peyton Manning looking for flags for such foolishness. I also don't remember Manning making Suzy Kolber run him down and do an interview while out of breath.

This whole "roughing the Brady" penalty could backfire on the league. Defenses will start to actually try and harm these QBs if they know they are gonna be flagged/fined for it. They'll make the personal foul official, and start to purposely try and take these players out of it becomes too ticky tacky if they don't step in and make some changes.

On Sunday, Rodney Harrison went on Football Night In America and told Brady to "take off the skirt and put on some slacks". While Harrison claims that he was speaking in jest, I think he couldn't have said it better. Brady may as well put on his wife's 4 inch heels and change his last name to Mr. Bundchen. Brady sitcho wussy azz down!

Memo to the players of the NFL: Being a diva is a female trait. If being is diva is what you are about, then you can borrow my earrings, makeup and nail polish. We can even go shopping for shoes if you like. But don't play in the NFL. I prefer to watch men play. Go sitchoazz down!

When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong- Sitchoazz Down Edition

1

Category: , , , , , ,

It's that time again. Time to call out the folks that keep it real way more than they should. You know, some folks really amaze me. People continue to do something or say something that leaves you shaking your head. Well today is Call Out Friday. I'm calling out all of the people that need to sit their azzes down!

Adam "Pacman" Jones

Photobucket

So football was giveth to Adam "Pacman" Jones, and then the football gods taketh away... all in less than a week's time and all because of his big mouth.

Pacman agreed in principle to play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, a CFL team. But before Pacman could even start his first game, the Blue Bombers reneged on their contract offer. Why? Because dude simply couldn't shut up.

How is that possible, you ask?? Well, Jones decided to go to Ustream and discuss his new team, and his plans for the immediate and near future. He first makes the mistake by calling the CFL, the UFL (United Football League, the new league created in the US, set to debut in October). He then tells his followers, in a nutshell, that he intends to use his new team as a stepping stone to eventually get back into the NFL. Smart.... NOT!!!!!!

So now Pacman is sitting at the unemployment line, all because he couldn't keep his simple thoughts to himself.

This guy will never learn. Pacman is in dire need of a life coach. Someone to help him make smarter decisions in life, because doing it on his own hasn't seemed to work for him since college. And another thing, this Ustream thing is getting out of hand. Chad Ochocinco starts a trend and everyone follows. But Chad has charisma and is usually funny. Pacman is not the brightest bulb in the pack. He's a clown. He needs to sit his azz down!

Michael Crabtree

Photobucket

This is about as dumb a story as you can find in the NFL right now. Crabtree is the only unsigned draft pick remaining, since Andre Smith finally signed with Cincy (another WKIRGW candidate, but so much to say, so little space). Crabtree is still salty about not getting Darrius Heyward-Bey money, the Maryland WR who was drafted 3 slots before him.

Crabtree thinks he should get DHB money, simply because he's better. Now, I don't think anyone would disagree with that. Crabtree is clearly the better receiver and possibly should have been drafted higher than 10th overall. But 9 other teams who passed on him, so Crabtree needs to get in where he fits in, which is a contract offer that has between $15 mil and $16 mil guaranteed money.

Now listen, before I get the hater chants, let me say I'm all for a player getting their money. But unless Crabtree's family are Billionaires, this is probably the most money that has ever been offered to him. And most agents know, it's not the rookie contract that you worry about, it's the next contract, when a player is in his prime. If Crabtree is the real deal like most of us believe, then he will get his big pay day. But right now he looks greedy and stupid. Can someone tell this guy he has to earn his keep first? Crabtree, sitchoazz down and take that contract.

This TV!

Photobucket

I found this picture on the Internet, and I must say.... this bothers the hell out of me. The room appears to be a very nice room. Neat, spacious and the decor is beautiful (of course I'm being biased.. no need to tell me so LOL). But ummmm... how in the hell can anyone watch the game on such a little TV? Can you see the game, the player, the scores? Then there's no surround sound, so can you hear the commentators well enough to know what in the hell is going on, since you already can't see it. How would you know which blurb is your team? Blue jerseys looking purple, red jerseys looking orange... If I came to a house to watch that game and that was the screen, you better believe I'm proceeding to the front door to exit.
Photobucket

This is a damn shame. You need a magnifying glass and bifocals just to see. Not cool. And if you are the person that invites folks over with this TV, then you should be ashamed. This is just mean, and you REALLY need to sitchoazz down!

And Finally................

LeGarrette Blount...... Needs to sit his azz down, time out... a switch.. whatever it is.. this is just WRONG!
