Sitcho Azz Down, DeAngelo Hall!

DeAngelo Hall STFU

Someone really needs to send DeAngelo Hall a memo to STFU. In response to Sunday's loss to the Texans in OT( the Redskins were up 10 pts in the 4th quarter), Hall had this to say about Texans WR Andre Johnson:

"This is my first time going against him in the league. I gave him a lot of props during the game. During the game, he didn't scare me. He didn't do anything that looked spectacular. He didn't do anything to make me feel like he was the best.

"Maybe the numbers indicate he is, but I didn't feel that way when I lined up against him. He caught a lot of balls in zone and was just kind of running wide open in zones, not really man-to-man.

"We were hitting Schaub. We had him rattled. I felt like we were dominating those guys, hitting Schaub whenever we wanted to. He was falling down, you know, without anybody even around him, like Peyton Manning does a lot."

Oh really?!

Hall had a whole lot to say, especially about an offense that put up 526 yards against his defense. But let's be clear, Andre Johnson is a beast. One of the best WRs in the league right now, but not talked about often, mainly because he doesn't run his mouth like others in his position. Your defense coordinator played zone defense for a reason. Had your DC played tons of man coverage, you better believe Johnson would've had more than 158 yards. So playing zone was the best option from being exposed to the player you are..... In the words of Warren Sapp, "What I Miss???"

Andre Johnson Redskins catch

I love the way Johnson responds. When told about Hall's comments, Johnson had this to say,

"I mean, those are his thoughts. The scheme that they ran, if he wanted to play me man-to-man, he should have told his coaches before the game. That's not my problem. For them to be running zone coverages like that with the safety over the top, and for me to still have 12 catches for 158 yards, somebody wasn't doing their job."

*snicker*

Note to DeAngelo Hall: Anytime a guy can catch 158 yards in a game, and grab the game-tying TD pass, he's as advertised. Give Johnson his props, he's damn good at what he does. Talking like this makes you sound foolish!

Sitcho Azz Down, Dan Hampton!

Former Bears defensive lineman Dan Hampton is the recipient of this week's Sitcho Azz Down award. During a Pro Football Weekly show, Hampton (along with a panel of 3 other analysts) were making their NFL picks. As the panel chose their winner for the Vikings/Saints game, Hampton said the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time:

Like Katrina?!?! REALLY?! There are some analogies that should never be made. Comparing a Vikings possible victory to a natural disaster that people are STILL rebuilding from is classless and even disrespectful to the residents of New Orleans.

Now is the time for Hampton to find some class and recant his statement. I'm sure you were looking for a great TV moment. Instead, you've come up with one of the worst Sitcho Azz Down moments in the history of the NFL Chick's series.

Dan Hampton, sitcho insensitive azz down!

Sitcho Azz Down, Julious Javone Threatts

I swear, just when you think you've heard it all.......

People can love football too much, apparently. Julious Javone Threatts of Tampa, FL loves it so much, that he decided to pose as a 14 year-old boy and join the Tampa Bay Youth Football League. There's just one problem- Threatts is 21 years old!!!!

According to naplesnews.com, here's how everything went down:

Steve Levinson, president of the football league, said Threatts played for the now defunct West Coast Youth Football Conference last year, trained again during the spring and then joined the Tampa Bay league at the beginning of this season. Levinson said the person he knew as Chad Jordan turned in all the necessary registration paperwork, including a copy of his birth certificate, which officials now realize must have been fake.

McCloud said Threatts told the team that his parents had died in a car accident and he was being raised by an older brother. "It was like a movie," McCloud said.

The coach began to investigate, asking around to see if anyone knew who "Chad" really was.

Finally, he found someone who knew the truth. A friend from Threatt's neighborhood told McCloud that while Threatt's father died in a car accident in St. Petersburg last year, his mother was alive, McCloud said.

McCloud found Threatt's Facebook page, which lists his mother as Debra Miller. It also says Threatts graduated from Leto High School.

Town and Country Packers coach Ray McCloud seems to feel some empathy for the kid... excuse me.. MAN!

"I don't think he was good enough to play semipro or anything. This might sound crazy, but I feel sorry for him ... they say he's a man, but he really acted like a sweet kid. After all the stuff that I found out, he still had me second guessing myself. That's how good he was."

What in the world?? So this GROWN AZZ MAN (who, by-the-way, was on probation for burglary charges) pretended to be a kid just to play football?? There aren't any rec teams in the area he could have played for instead?? Talk about re-living your youth.... this dude took it too far! Now Threatts faces charges of trespassing on school grounds, obstruction by a disguised person and violation of probation, all in the name of playing football.

A lot of us love football as much as the next person. But please don't let football be the reason you go to jail, people. Julious Javone Threatts, go sitcho pressed azz down!

When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong- The Steelers Edition

1

Category: , , , ,

Looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers love to be in the limelight, good or bad. This week, we take a look at Steelers WR Santonio Holmes, who found a way to be a pure dumbazz.

According to PFT.com. Mr. Holmes is being sued for assault and battery, stemming from a situation in an Orlando nightclub. Here's a look at the alleged account, according to PFT:

The civil complaint contends that Holmes confronted plaintiff Anshonoe Mills after she refused to leave the arm of a couch in the VIP area of the Rain nightclub. Holmes allegedly "put his hand" in Mills' face while attempting to remove her from the couch. Holmes then allegedly "threw his entire glass cup of liquor" at Mills' face, allegedly causing a laceration below her eyebrow and "blinding her temporarily."

She claims that, outside the club, she asked a police office to "reprimand" Holmes for his conduct. The complaint then alleges that "he" (it's unclear whether the pronoun refers to the officer or Holmes) "proceeded to inform the plaintiff that he was an NFL football player and that he could not face criminal charges." Mills also alleges that Holmes then "offered to give [her] money because he was a [sic] NFL star and could not get into trouble."

Mills claims that she "felt pressure from [Holmes] and the Orlando Police Department not to press chargers," and that while under said pressure he made "a short victim statement incoherently stating that she was hit in the face and bleeding near her eyes, however, intended not to press charges." She claims that the Orlando Police Department failed to write a police report.

Ummmm......... am I the only one that reads this and is thinking WTF???

First off, why do Holmes and other players use their celebrity to give them a pass to do anything they want??? The fact that he mentioned that he was an NFL player and wouldn't face charges is the most asinine statement I've ever heard. Has he talked to Michael Vick, Plaxico Burress or Jamal Lewis? News flash, athletes do get arrested too. If these accounts are true, then Holmes comes off as the ultimate douche lord.

Second, why is a grown azz man, throwing a drink at woman??? That has to be the most feminine thing I have ever heard. When you watch movies and TV shows, it's always the woman throwing a drink in a man's face.
Photobucket
But a dude doing it???? His masculinity took a hit with that one.

Apparently, Holmes didn't learn anything from his teammate's current legal issues. The alleged event happened on March 7, just 2 days after his teammate and QB, Ben Roethlisberger's incident. This is a prime example of, when keeping it real goes wrong. Both of these goons are making the Steelers PR reps do overtime right now. They both need to sit they azzes down before the team needs to look for a new QB AND a new WR.

Sitchoazz Down Vernon Davis!!!!

It's back! The blog post everyone love. It's time for Sitchoazz Down!

This week's award was hard to choose from. The award could have easily went to former Browns QB Derek Anderson for the comments he made about Cleveland's fans, after his release. But I actually thought that was pretty funny (if you didn't hear what he said, click here). So, I couldn't TRULY give it to him if I giggled.

So on to the next one... This weeks award goes to San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis. And with good reason.

If you have been living under a rock, then you haven't heard the news. Washington, DC's Coolidge High School just hired Natalie Robinson to be the first black female head coach of the school's varsity football team.

Of course, this news comes with tons of controversy, especially from the male side. This weekend on Twitter, Vernon Davis let it be known, his feelings on the new head coach near his home town:

First off, it's ridiculous that you can't spell RIDICULOUS. Listen, I know Twitter doesn't have to be grammar perfect. But when you are about to discuss a sensitive topic, I expect all T's crossed, and all I's dotted. Dumb ass!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Okay, he went apples and oranges just that fast. What the hell does a woman football coach have anything to do with a woman's strength coach?!?!

*sexist tweet*
Ummmm.. FYI Mr. Davis, there ARE male cheerleaders out there. Actually, there are male cheerleaders in the NFL. No I'm not making it up. If you think I am, GOOGLE IT!

Okay, this is when the convo totally went left for me..........................

The day that Vernon Davis himself can run a better route than Jerry Rice, is the day he can say something so asinine. This is a guy who was a former 1st round draft pick, but has had an average-at-best NFL career . And you want a female to run a better route than Mr. Jesus In Cleats himself, in Jerry Rice. Well, 99% of the guys in the league already can't run Jerry Rice-type routes, yourself included.

As a female, I'm extremely proud of Ms. Robinson and her accomplishment. But at the same time, I do wonder how she will be able to handle the adversity as well as the high levels of testosterone, which she will have to deal with on a regular basis. While I'm not exactly sure how this will turn out, I support her and the school's decision 100% and hopes she proves the critics wrong.

Vernon Davis has a right to his opinion, and I'm not even mad about his reservations, especially since I have some myself. But it's all about delivery. His tweets came off to be insensitive and chauvinist at times. Dude needs a huge timeout in the STFU chair, at least until his NFL career can become relevant to anyone outside the Bay area.

Vernon Davis, Sitcho irrelevant-azz Down!

So Seahawks WR TJ Houshmandzadeh was on Colin Cowherd's ESPN radio show this week talking about a number of things. He talked about knowing the Seahawks playbook, he talked about Michael Vick and he talked about his head coach Jim Mora... but then he dropped a bomb!

Dun Dun DUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN

Mr. Whoseyourmomma told The Herd that he plans on boycotting the 2010 Madden video game. Why, do you ask??? Well... because he feels under ranked and unappreciated.

TJ Houshmazood's ratings on the upcoming game is a 91. A rating that he says is too low. When asked about his reasoning, he had this to say:

"I just looked at the game and they have this wrong and that wrong. And I understand I averaged 10 yards a catch (in 2008), but it's the offense, man, not me."

"I'm not playing Madden no more, until they get my rating right," Houshmandzadeh said. "It might be a little pouting, too. It might be. But, you know, I used to be the best in the world at Madden, so I'm going to miss not playing it. But until they do me right, I'm not playing it no more."

A little pouting?? It's more than that. If this isn't the epitome of pouting, then I dunno what is. I smell a crybaby.
Photobucket

FOXSports.com shows the rankings of 5 players who ranked higher than him.. all who just so happened to have more yards and TDs than him. So to be fair, I think the ratings are pretty accurate.

What I don't understand is, why does a player need a video game to validate what he can do on the field? I think most folks realize his talent level. Seattle, Cincy and Minnesota basically had a tug of war match to get TJ Homeontherange, with Seattle finally luring him in. It's obvious that he was one of the highest profile players in free agency this offseason, so I'm not sure why a video game rating is that important to him.
Photobucket

You don't like the ratings, do something about it. Make 2009 your year to show why you should be ranked higher. Use it as motivation. But don't get mad at the video game. It's just a video game! I'm sure John Madden is crying himself to sleep in a fetal position right now for this devastating news. NOT! His comments reek of bitchassness, and it must stop now! Obama For Change!

For the love of Ray J......Mr. Housemazelli, please sitchoazzdown.

Disclaimer: Yes, I know I fudged his name up numerous times... but if picking on his name is wrong, I don't want to be right!
